Stay Hydrated is a story-driven VR unreal engine survival game that is a personal project I work on from time to time. It was initially started as an Oculus Launchpad 2018 entry.
It takes place in the late 90s in the Mojave Desert and is based primarily on the Yucca Forrest in the Desert Wildlife National Refuge, north of Las Vegas, with influences also being taken from Joshua Tree National Park and the Mojave National Preserve.
The intended story centers around avoiding dehydration in the desert and interacting with a 911 operator who is helping you to reach rescue.
Originally I was leading a team of three, which included myself, another environment artist, and a technical artist to work on this project, the team has since been disbanded. The level design, lighting, all of the manmade props, most of the foliage, and most of the textures have been my personal work.
